Frequently asked questions
How do my agents connect to Crisp?
Via a private Crisp plugin: its identifier and key, pasted as identifier:key, then your site identifier (website_id) passed to the agent. The connection is set up once, from the Atako integration settings.
Is my Crisp API key safe?
Yes. Your API key is encrypted and never exposed to the agent: it acts through a secure access layer, without ever seeing or handling your credentials.
Can I limit what each agent is allowed to do?
Yes, read and write permissions are configured per agent: some can only view conversations, others can send messages or create contacts.
What can an agent actually do in Crisp?
Review site information, list and manage conversations, read and send messages, add private notes, create and update contacts, and list operators, depending on the permissions you grant.
Can I revoke access at any time?
Yes, in one click from the integration settings. The agent immediately loses all access to Crisp, no action needed on the Crisp side.
What Crisp data is covered?
Site information, conversations (state, assignment, messages), contacts (people profiles) and operators. Widgets, triggers, campaigns, files and billing are not exposed to agents; no deletion is possible.
